Learning to Trust Will Change Your Life

“Trust lies at the core of love, there can be no true love without trust.” -M.K. Soni

Like most young boys, I grew up with the perception that I had to be tough, guarded and prepared to take on the world alone. And like most men, my “ME Against the World” philosophy only grew more arrogant with age. I didn’t trust anyone BUT me. However, as I matured, I realized that my inability to fully trust was seeping into, and poisoning my most intimate relationships.

It wasn’t until I was married and in the midst of a unique and special love, that I had to confront the fears of my vulnerability. After fighting, resisting and even trying to run from my issues of trust, I was forced to make a choice. My decision would either allow my marriage to grow, or effectively destroy it. I was at a crossroads. Ultimately I decided that I would rather risk betrayal, than lose an amazing love.

I opened up and boldly challenged myself to love unconditionally, trust absolutely and accept vulnerability. After more than 14 years of marriage, I am proud to say that the trust and power I have given to my wife has been appreciated, respected, never misused, and never taken for granted. In the process of trusting, I opened the door to the depths of a love relationship that I had never experienced.

Until you trust fully, your relationships will be incomplete!

Yes, we must be wary of the intentions of many of the people we call friends, co-workers, church members or even family. However, staying closed will prevent our relationships from reaching life changing levels. Great relationships raise the height of our life. It is not until we open up that we find confidants, mentors, advisors, and even soul mates.

Most importantly, our trust must be extended to God. Until we are fully able to trust Him and release our fears and worries, we are restricted from experiencing the abundance of love and blessings that are available to us. God is an amazing provider and asks us to simply trust Him.

I have always wondered why at times I find it so hard to trust Him? He has never let me down. He has saved me, provided unexpected blessings, forgiven me, guided me, and trusted me to make my own decisions. It sounds simple, and it is. If you challenge your fears and trust God to fight your battles, deliver you through the storm, and shape your decisions, your life will be blessed and fulfilled.

If you want to be happy; if you want to experience relationships that are life changing and complete; if you want to receive true prosperity beyond money-then open up, love unconditionally, and trust God absolutely.
